Each person seeks counselling for their own reasons and has their own particular expectations of both the purpose and the process of counselling. Accordingly, my approach is essentially person-centred, collaborative and takes individual differences into consideration. My style is influenced by a range of therapeutic approaches such as the existentialist, mindfulness-based, emotion-focused, solution-focussed, narrative and cognitive-behavioural. The extent to which I draw on any of these is determined after careful listening, consideration and discussion with my clients.
